چکیده

Traditional use of herbal medicines implies substantial historical use, and this is certainly true for many products that are available as ‘traditional medicines. The experimental study was conducted between February May, 2016 at University Gondar on antibacterial effect leaf extract Pterolobium stellatum. purpose the present to test antimicrobial P. stellatum extracted leaves against some standard pathogenic bacteria. collected plant leave sample with solvent ethanol, methanol, chloroform distilled water. Finally, tested bacteria species (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas species, Salmonella Shigella Staphylococcus aureus Streptococcus pyogenes) then inhibition zone; minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) bactericidal (MBC) were determined. ethanol methanol solvents showed high anti-bacterial activity both Gram negative positive higher statistically significant (P<0.05) seen in all highest shown spp. (21.33±1.52) whilst lower extract. Both MIC MBC effective lowest concentration. Key words: Antibacterial, (MIC), (MBC), stellatum, sensitivity test.
